There was a lot of ground to cover, and we could flot include everything, but we feel that this gives you a good idea of what went on at the Fair, broke clown on a day to day basis. Troy Young Editor -Publisher Orono Weekly Times Mayor Dianne Hamre was on -hand as a representa - tive of the Town of Clarington to open up the four day fair. Tereza Henderson sponsored by the Apple Blossom Shop, Heather Maic3lm, spon- sored by the Loyal Orange Lodge, Deanna Brown, sponsored by Dominion Regalla, Caria Werry, sponsored by Mardi's Flowers and Gifts, andAilan McKenzie, sponsored by the Canadian Statesman, ail competed for the titie of Ambassador of the Fair. Last years Ambassador of the Fair, Anthea Peacock, offers some words of advlce and encouragement to this years contestants. Heather Malcolm exhibited the nece&sarypolse and confidence needed to win the cov- eted titie of Ambassador of the Fair. Ail of the contestants, had a busy weekend, being on hand to take part ln many of the activities and hand ou t various -awards. Ms. Malcolms job is only just beglnnlng. however., She now has to represent the Durham Central Fair across the province until next year. Good luck,- Heather.
