St. Saviour's Anglican Church in Orono held its annual bazaar on Saturday at the Church. 45 minutes after the bazaar started, almost all of the baked goods and a sig- nificant amount of the articles for sale were already gone. The crowd on hand really seemed to be enjoying themselves. There were draws - for a quilt, handmade sweater and macrame lawn chairs, as well as a penny draw for the arti- cles spread on the table that you see above. The tea room was also popular, and many people filled their plates (and their bellies) on the delicious goods available. The event was put on by the ACW and all proceeds are going to the church. A Christmas Craft Bazaar and bake sale that was held on Saturday, November 4th at the Newtonville Public School was filled to the brim with an array of articles. For a small price one could pur- chase some of the delicacies that were being served in the tea room. There was also a silent auction where you could win one of many things that were donated. Al proceeds from the bazaar will be used to provide a free Christmas dinner to all the students at the school, a graduation barbecue in June, ice time and buses for two skating events. Hopefully some money will remain to help purchase some word processors and help set up their environ- mental trail, the two things on top of their wish list. The lst Newtonville Brownies are in desperate need of leaders. If you or someone you know can spare an hour and a half each week and would like to help them out then please call one of the following: Donna Adams, 987-5762 or Joyce Stephenson, 983- 9519. Everyone who attended the turkey supper that was held at the Newtonville United Church on Saturday November 4th were all in agreement of how delicious the food both looked and tasted. All proceeds from the dinner will be used where they will be most needed. A big thank you goes out to everyone who helped in the planning and preparation. enty 47 baip,5 mail
