Donut Gallery A toms lose to Port Perry Orono Atom Donut Gallery hosted Port Perry for an exhi- bition gaine on Wednesday, November 8,,1995. Orono played a strong game which resulted in a 2-2 tie. Kevin Martin had a good gaine for Orono. In the first period. Kevin showed off his fast skating and stick-han- dling skills as- he took the puck from behind our net, skated through four of Port Perry's players deep into the opposition's end. Jordan Beacock and Kyle MacDonald made good cleaing passes in the first period. With one minute remainîng in the first period, Port Perry scored on a screened shot on net. Jordan Beacock had an excellent second perîod. Jordan dazzled the fans, with a tic tac toe play - he inter- cepted a pass with his skate, deked around a player with a stick-handling play and final- ly got his shot away. Late in the second period, Jordan let fly from the blue line wîth a slapshot that went through four players and almost in the net. The star of the game was #44 Michael Teixeira. Early in the second period, Michael took the puck from his blue line with dazzling speed into Port Perry's end, shot on net, missed - then scored unas- sisted when he shot in his own rebound. Later in the second period, Kevin Pritchard bounced the puck off the board at the blue line around the, Port Perry Defenceman to clear the puck out of Orono's end. Mike Knapp picked up the puck and made a nice pass to Teixeira. Michael Teixeira showed his speed once more and scored on his first shot which gave Orono a 2-1 lead. Unfortunately, with four min- utes left in the game, Port Perry evened the score, and the gaine ended in a 2-2 tie. Shawn DeJong was a real asset on his lime - consistent- ly cleairly the puck out of Orono's end, and making sure that the goalie was not left undefended. Will Lofgren and Christopher, Ouimet worked very hard during this gaine with their centre Tyler Gregg. This excellent and enter-- taining hockey game was a real joy to-watch.
