Apple Blossom won. On Wednesday, January 10 the two teams meet up again. The score Was 2-2. Great goal tending by Kevîn Martin #30. Scoring for Pineridge were Andrew Kadykalo #10 and Michael Poddocombe # 17. Saturday, January 13 Pineridge played Bowmanville's Braggs Bird Seed. It was a tense game, but neither team could score due to exceellent goal tending agai n by Kevin Martin #30. Great effort by the entire team, next time we will take the game. The first goal came in the second period, when Jesse Price centered it out in front of Omemee net and Justin Szymczak put it into the net. Orono took off from there and beat Omemee 4-2. As Orono Shoppers rolled to a 6-2 victo ry. Shoppers opened the scoring bef'ore the flyers Syd Arnold tied up the game with assists from Gary Chapman and Dave Wright. Shoppers scored the next two goals.ý Craig McLeod pulled the flyers to within one with a pass from Dave Wright. After this it was all Shoppers as they scored three goals to wrap up the game. The Newcastle Sonbon Homes Flyers losing streak continued on the weekend of Decembe r l6th and l7th as they lost twice, 18-2 to Orono Team One on Satu'rday and 8-5 to the Durham 50's on Sunday., Larry Pearce and Paul Bligdon scored the goals on Saturday with Dave Wright picking up an assist. On Sunday the goal scoring was spread out with single goals from Paul Siemon, Craig McLeod, Larry Pearce, Gary Sherban and Gary Chapman. Earning assists were Gary Sherban, Syd Arnold and Craig McLeod. The Newcastle Sonbon, Homes Flyers are b ack on the winning track with victories in their i st three games. On December 3lst the Flyers edged Ontario Motor Sales 7-5. Gary Sherban and Rick Carter scoredtwo goals each with singles from Gord McGrath, John Malda and Gary Chapman. Rick Carter and Gary Sherban had three assists each. Craig McLeod, Mike, Cross and Jack Vernon each picked up an assist. The Sonbon Homes Flyers travelled to Oshawa on January 5th and picked u p a 6-4 win over the Maclntosh Bulîs. Gary Sherban scored two goals and two assists, Dave McKee had a goal and two assists and Craig McLeod a goal and an assist. Derek H. scored the other two goals. Picking up assists were Dave Wright (2), Gord McGrath, Mike Cross, Brad Wilson and Jack Vernon. On Sunday, January 7th Th 'e Sonbon Homes Flyers outlasted Rosedale by the score of 8-7. Dave McKee led the way with 3 goals and 3 assists, brother Terry McKee had 2 goals and 3 assists. The third member of the big line, Gary Sherban, had one goal, and 4 helpers. Larry Pearce and John Malda scored the other goals, with Dave Wright, Gary Chapman, Neil -Ingram and Jack Vernon assisting. Cam Wilson was kept very busy in the flyers net in aIl games. Brandon West The Apple Splits On Wednesday, December 27th, looking at certain defeat, Hobbs-Baker-Bergin pulled a no show, and for- feited the game, gîving, the Apple Blossom Novice its easiest win of the year. On Saturday December 3th, Braggs blew into Orono for a rematch after being bounceil earlier by the Apple Blossoms. B3raggs opened the scoring early at, 14:47. At 11:01 Guinner Greg Dunham (11) lied it Up, taking a pass from Jet Joseph Staples (10). At 9:45 Apple took the lead with Gunner Greg Dunham (11) scoring on another break- away, easily scoring on a high wicked shot. Braggs lied things up at 8:14 off a scramble and took the lead scoring with only 16 seconds left on a shot from the face- off. Crafty Carl Tordiff (8) kept Orono in this wide open, end to end first, stop- ping Braggs on 7 consecu-- tive shots. The second started as flyno Dave Landman- (99) denied Braggs with some solid defensive play. At 13:54 Gunner Greg Dunham (11) pulled a hat- trick scoring to tie the game after two great fakes at the blueline. That ended Apple's scoring for the game, and playing four guys, short began to show. Braggs scored at 7:30 and 6:57, both on rebounds as the defense failed to clear thie puck after good saves by Carl Tordiff (8). Mid-second, Krusher Kyle Johnston (29) fed a pass from behind the net to Rocket Ryan Campney, (93) in the slot who fired a bumer forcing a good save.
