Pines Student Going To Canada-Wide Science Fair Four students from the Northumberland -Clarington Board of Education head off to the Canada-wide Science Fair in North Bay starting May 12. Jacqui Hurvid, a grade eight student at the Pines Senior Public School will be taking her physics pro- ject, "Removing Chlorine from Water" to the fair. The other students who will be going on to the next level. are Simon Gorka and Raymond Fingas of Cobourg District Collegiate Institute East and Charles Raine from Bowmanville Senior Public School. Ryan McCracken, also of the Pines, earned the Ontario Hydro Environmental Award and the Northumberland Agricultural Society Envîronmental Awareness Award for his project on vermi-composting.
