The children, who regularly visît their grandiparents fromn Port Perry, were able ta plant a variety of sunflowers and pumpkins in their grandpar- ent's garden. Andrew and Katie said that they love coming down ta spend the day wîtli their grandparents. September ie Big Brothers Month Mayor Diane Hamre and the local counicillors have declared September Big Brother Month in Clarington. On Septemnber 21, at Archibald Orchards in Tyrone from 10:00 arn - 4:00 pm, every- one is welcome ta show off their talents in aur'talent show. There will be games, prizes and entertainment for the children including Uncle Moe, a clown and a dancer. Along with all this, Archibald Orchards will have aIl their regular activities which include wagon rides, a chli- dren's Theatre, a straw maze and jump and farm animais. Police -are investi- gating the suspect for a rash of bike thefts in the area. August 15 Twýo Bowmanville homes were the scenes of two attemnpted break and enters. A house on Quin Street was entered, but nothing was taken. The other home was, on Spry Avenue. Van Dyk Realty in Bowmanville was broken into, but the owners of the proper- ty could find nothing missing as of this report. A celi phone was stolen out of an unlocked truck parked on Andrews St. in Orono. -August 17 There was an attempted break-in at Neil's Variety on Division St. in Bawmanville. Would-be thieves attempted ta enter from a side door. A large gang of araund 15 youths were seen breaking fence boards in the Scugog- Second Streets area.
