HOSPICE Week In Clarington September 15 Police were called to inves- tigate a possible break-mn at the Becker's store in the Waverly Plaza on Waverly' Road in Bowmanville. The front window of the store was broken, but there was appar- ently no entry or anything stolen from the scene. Police suspect a skateboarder may have crashed into the window while performing a trick. Skateboarders often use the plaza's parking lot and walk- way for skateboarding. September 14 An unknown culprit(s) entered the Parish beside the Marantha Christian Church on Highway 2 in Bowmanville. Nothing was reported stolen. Churches in the area have been a target for break-mns this summer. Earlier in the year. a Bowrnanville Church was entered and a fire started inside. Luckily, the fire did not spread. September 12 A 13 year old Bowmanville Senior Public Student was assaulteil in the school yard by a skateboard wielding thug. In a letter ta Coundil, MacLeod asked that a flag raising ceremony be held at the Municipal Administrative Centre in Bowmanville to help raise awareness for the group and the work they do. Their services are in great demand, as they provide non-medical support for the families in the time of crisis.
