KEEP UP THE GOOD TEAM Sunday, December 1, 1996, wor zDUFFERIN. KINSMEN BANTAMS CONSOLATION CHAMPS! On November 23 & 24 the Kinsmen Minor Bantam Toros took part in the Orangeville tournament. In their first game against Oakville the Toros came out flat and their lack of emo- tion put them on the short end of a 6-3 loss placing them in the consolation. In their second game against Markham, which they had to win or go home the lads showed a lot more jump, skating and forechecking and were reward_ ed with a 6-3 win advancing them to the final. The final game pitted them against Chinguacousy in which the Toros got off to a fast start scoring 3 times in the first to take a 3-0 lead. Toros goalie wasn't tested often but was up the task when he had to be. The second period was score- less and the Toros had things well under control. The two teams exchanged goals in the third period, making the final score 4-1. The Toros were firing on all cylinders in their last two games as everybody played well. The goaltending was shared between Rob Weir and Bryan Harris who played well through- out the tournament. Point getters for the Toros in the Tournament were Brandon Baker (3g, 2a), Chris Laton (3g, la), Nick Smith (2g la), Jon Black (ig 2a), Jared Greening (lg 2a), Ian Gleeson (lg 2a), Mike Cyr (lg la), Sean Pudlis (lg la), Kyle Welsh (4a), Daryl Stockman (3a), Adam Smith and Jason Greenham with 2 assists each. Congratulations Toros and keep up the hard work! CNC CUSTOM MACHINNING/SOUND MASTER MIDGET TOROS STILL STRUGGLING Chalk up another two loses for the Midget Toros making it five in a row with 43 goals against while only managing to put 7 in their opponents net. There seems to be a lack of commitment as well as desire on the Midget Team. It is hard to pin point the problem as there is a combination of sever- al reasons why they can't get the job done. As in any sport mental awareness is a key factor and the Midgets seem to lack the knowledge to read the play and act on it before it is too late. I believe the Toro's can give any team they face a hard time while winning their share but until they start thinking of we will win instead of I will win, I guess the loss column will have Electrolysis Tired of tweezing and shaving?
