SThe second period showeda teama effort by Shane Winters and defenceman Ryan Campney that stopped an onslaught of shots by Newcastle. Two quick goals by Doug Garlick assisted by Josh Moffat, Andrew Fothergill, Garrett Wood put Orono Major Plumbing up be a score of 3- 1. A sloppy clearing itt(--pt by Newcastle allowed Captain Doug f0 obtain his 4th goal of the night rewarding Orono with a 4-1 lead at the end of the sec- ond period. Orono netminder Shane Winters stopped a constant barage of shots 1-2-3-4, betore one penetrated the crease at 1: 18 of the second period. Newcastle came alive at the very end of the second period with two quick goals 1 tied the score 4-4. Orono went into the third peniod slightly sluggishi, whichi Newcastle capitalized giving them the go-ahead goal. Neutral zone play was the name of the game in the third anyone's game- but Orono lost, momentumn. On Friday Dec. 13 the Toros fravelled to Newmarket for their third game in four nights. The Kinsmen Toros struck first with a goal by Sean Pudîts assisted by DerekBroley, and Brandon Baker. The Newmarket squad answered wifh one of their own as the first period ended tied 1- 1. The Toros outscored their opponents 3-ÔOiin the second period f0 take a commanding lead.
