National Police Week The Durham Regional' Police Service will be cele- brating its success as a com- munity partner during NATIONAL POLICE WEEK scheduled May il th to i 7th, 1997. This Police Service is constantly working together with the community, and this is their chance to share this partnership with the citizens of Durham Region. Displays will be heldthroughout the Durham Region on the fol- lowing dates and times: In 26 division they kick off Police Week one day early, wîth a display of their Mobile Command Unit which high- lights various units of the Durham Regional Police Service. The unit can be seen at the Uxbridge municipal parking lot on Saturday, May luth between 9:30 a.m. and 12 noon. From here the dis- play will move to the Lachami Centre on Queen Street in Port Perry and can be viewed on Saturday afternoon between 1 p.m. and 3:30 p.m. Please contact either Const. The Oshawa Centre dis- play will have a youth print program, the police puppet patrol, and on Saturday, May lta full day dedicated to young people, with bicycle registrations and a bicycle rodeo being held. On Wednesday, May 1 4fl at 9 a.m., the winner of the Junior Police Chief for a Day contest wîll be swomn in.
