Nightclub comedians know they can always score a cheap guffaw by malklng fun ofpassionless limeys and their prissy, siff- upper-llppish ways. Anglo-Saxon sang-froid is universally acknowledged, universally dlsparaged and, as an Englishman himself might say, a load of utter rubbish. The British aren't passion- less, they just have better manners (soccer louts exclud- ed) than the rest of us, As for lacking a sex drive, you've got to be wondering, what bushel basket Milas Fdreman has been living under for the past quarter of a century. Did he miss the Profumo Scandai? Fergie, Duchess of Toes? Prince Charles and Lady Tampon? The veritable daisy chain of British Members of Parliament who get caughit -- at a rate of about once a fort- night -- with their O-xfords under the wvrong beds? Near as i can tell, the British are about as randy as lot as this hormonally overcharged plan- et has ever spawned. * Consider tht news from Awareness program, "Water Wise". The Norwegians -- there's another group that gets held up to ridicule in the Sexier Than Thou Department. The Norse are cold, the cliche goes. Distant. Aloof. They gsot no rhythm. Well, you couldn't prove it by the story that's rocking Norway right now. Norwegian media are busy chronicling the ongoing public quarrel between two women overjust exactly whose breasts lucky cubs who are now part of the scout troop, from ahl their friends and leaders of the Wolf cub pack. Bobby Skan was also invested into the scout troop that night. Once the ceremonies were over everyone was invited to line up for a piece of the deli- clous cake that one of the parents had made and.deco- rated to help celebrate the special event. Alex Opted Out ofMMBéPeson Plain - People demand accountability. *People want credibility. - They voted for a change of government in 1993; and, for a change in the attitudes of elected representatives. - As your MP 1 would have difficulty arguing for change while stIll being eligible to collect a pension many of you neyer receive. - Mie pension plan gives MPs an incentive to stay on in politics long after they are useful to you in that job. -* aI arn azed at the number of politicians who choose politics as a career path. Politics was neyer mneant to be that. I chose to opt out of the MP's Pension Plan because, in these timies of deficit reduction and beit tightening I feit it was the only responsible action to take. I intend to continue to becthis kind of representative for Durham in Ottawa.
