eday quater horse show Success fui three Area Four of the Ontarlo Quarter~ Horse Association held a successful three day- event at the Orono Fair grounds over the past wceek- end. Entries were present from Oshawa east to, Gananoque and as far north as Huntsville. From 100 to 120 horses and'riders were in compdetition for each of the three ays. Classes ranged fromn Novice to Most Experienced and included both English an-d Westerni saddie. Rider and horse were both «jucgect in the Quarter Horse show held at the Orono Fair Grounds over the past week-end. She piaced flrst in the line ciass. It was easiiy noted to be, in most cases, a family outing, extending over a three day period. T-he Association, -Area Four, has been using the Orono Fair Grounds for their competitions. In speaking with the co- ordinator for the event she said that the Oronio Fair Grounds was a good facility for such an event - infact "the best in Ontario". It ail starts with the officiai opening of the ultra new-look, inside and outslde, at Stutt's Phar- macy which has been undertaken by the new owner, Mr. Tino Montopoli. The officiai opening is being held on Thursday, August 28th. Along with the officiai opening the Downtown Business Association is promoting a sidewalk sale by uts memibers starting wlith Thursday, August 28th and continuing on Friday and Saturday. The Orono Downtown is also takçing part in the Cla-rington Great Country - side Adventure being held on September 13 and 14th, Again it is a sidewaik salie in downtown with the addition of local craft sales for Saturday, September l3th. To further the day arrangements are underway to pay a tribute to David Story of Orono for the spectacular mural he has compieted on the north wall of the Becker store. More details are to follow ln the near future. Music will be included. Those wisliing to display and seli crafts should contact Murray Taylor, president of the UBIA, at Rolph Hardware for available space in the downtown. The Orono Town Hall Board also expects to take part in the Clarington Great Countryside Adventure. ThI-s event is styled after the former Ganaraska Great Countryside Adventure that was so successful.
