If the parade doesn't do it for you, then there is the fair pageant or the dairy cat- le show. The officiai. openmng of the 1997 fair will take place after the anrival of the parade and wil be performed by Brenda Metcaif. Brenda is the District President of the Women's Institute, a rural organization of women cele- brating the one hundredth anniversary of Women's Institutes in Ontario. Following the opening fes- tîvities other events taking place in front of the grand- stand will mnclude the media- politician milking contest with a new twist this year. The politicians invited to par- ticipate wîll be would-be politicians, those people seek- ing public office for the first time. Also the ever popular Farmers Olympics where teams of people perform a series maneuvers requiring dexterity and team work to finish the course in the short- est Urne. At any rate the kids will be having a whale of a time down on the midway where almost everythlng is only one loonie.- Hot dogs, french fries, candy floss, games and the best -is that ail rides are onlly one dollar.
