She named many of the business- es that have recently relocat- ed to Clarington and men- tioned that Paula ]Lishman is looking to relocate in Clarington. Clarington businessman Fred Finlayson pointed out that Clarington is the 5th fastest growing area in Ontario. "That is as tremen- dous dlaim," said Finlayson. Finlayson went on to mention Clarington's connecion with auto racing and introduced Mr. Andrew Evans as a 46- year-old enthusiast who seems to' have the midas touch. Mr Evans is the Chairman and owner of International Motorsports Group (IMSG). IMSG is the company that has exclusive riglits to operate Mosport for the next 40 years. Mr. Evans outlined some of his group's ideas for Mosport. It is his poal to get back the credibîlity that Mosport once had. IMSG promotes a complete enter- tainment package. Their dri- vers are accessible to the fans. The IMSG stage will promote top quality entertain- ers and products. "IMSG and Mosport are steeped in history". said Evans, "we hope to see some' of the great racers in Mosport. Our primary objec- tive is to establish credibility. We will be investing in Mosport for years to corne." Evans- went on to say that IMSG is a young growing cornpany with a passion for the business. Their drivers are part of the family. They have taken down the danger- ous part of the Mosport track and put in sand traps. "Safety is important to us", said Evans. At the end of the lun- cheon, Mr Stockwell, Clarington's CEO, thanked the speakers and the organîz- ers of the event, Back at the Cornrunity Centre, Clarington was still on stage. By 3:30 p.m. the sky opened and the ramn came down. The Country 4 Quartet and Chaser still put on their show, but the audi- ence had to move up close to the stage to stay dry. i.
