SUBSORIBE TO THE ORONO WEEKLY TIMES 983-5301 Student population growing according to figures The student population at both eiementary and sec- ondary schotols with The Northumberland- Clarington Board of Education is growing according to preiiminary enrolment figures. "We're up three per cent at the elementary level from the number of students we had in September, 1996 and that's two per cent more than proj ected, " says Bryan Fisher, superintendent of adminis- trative services. "Secondary enrolment is up 2.1 per cent from September, 1996 and this is pretty much bang on our projections." Fisher describes these fig- ures as early ones and says we know they xiii change over the next week or so." The increase translates into about 650 more, students this year and about 300 more students than projected, he says. Most of the growth con- tinues to be in the western part of the board's jurisdic- tion. Last year's total student enroiment was 24,,6 77. The board's heavy growth pattern is continuing and it's clear that it is going to create even more pressure for new buildings," says board chair- person Bob Willsher. "At the same time, it's encouraging." FUNERAL SERVICES PRE-ARRANGED AND PREPAID Funeral Directors Paul R. Morris Robert E. Williams Gary M. Conway Daug R.
