The cer- tificated signed by Romeo LeBlanc, Canada's Govemnor General read: in recognition of 20 years of loyal and meri- torious service to public security in Canada. The progranis under the guidance of tw ,en- thusiastic young ladies, Alison Elliott, Calpbellcroft and Katrin -Ridert of Peterborough,. Alison has her BA In Educalg0n and a BA in Biology. Èptrin has her BA in Edcfo and a HA in Geography and Environmental SciPlCe. As in the past Years the program consts-ts of a number of options incluIding a Three DayIT'WO Night residential progrdm as well as a Two. Day/dne Night residential option. In both these programs the Centre can âccomMO- date 38 studeflts with meals, sleeping fa@flitîes and other amenities. A Day Use prograin running from 9 ti3 Is also available. The cêst Of this program including the two instructors is set at $5.00 per student. It carnies a minimum of 25 students. The three day residential program is charged out at $3.000 up to 30 students while the two day prograni costs $1,750.00 up to 30 students.'1 The two teachers point out with great satisfaction that the months of October and November are fully booked as are the mondas of Januaxy and Februaxy. The latter two months, it was stated, have the added attraction of Cross Country skiing - "a favourite time of the year at the Forest Centre". The Environmental studies are quite varied s0 as to interest ail age groups from the school systems. The twvo instructors speak of the studies of Nature, Communities, Human Interaction with Nature. Forest and Wildlife as weli as activity outings of Orienteering, Skiing, Hilng, Map Reading and mÏuch more. -There is a wide range for ail age -groups to study at the Outdoor Environmental Education Centre», It was stated. One of the most popular Day Use progranis is that of a Holiday Craft session starting November 24 and continuing well Into December. Students spend the momning hilkng in the forest collecting natural material for their crafts. After lunch the young artisans assemble their creations with assistance from the In- structors, teachers and parents.
