Libby Racansky represent- ing Friends of Farewell, wanted to know what council mnembers were willing to do to help Courtice residents resolve the mnatter of the cont- aminated fi at 3242 Solina Rd. Council received a copy of Racansky's report outlin- ing the contaminants in the soil and will study it. . Andrew Berk made sub- missions to council on behiaif of his ailing father Allun Berk. Berk submits that the staff report to deny approval for a gas station on Courtice Rd. at Bloor St. is flawed. It is the applicants opinion that there are no reasonable alter- natives for a gas station site in Courtice. . Joe Domnitrovic who is seeking rezoning to permit ,Ihe operation of an auto body shop at his home in Courtice has withdrawn is appeal with the 0MB at this time. He has withidrawn it because he feels this counicil hias not dealt fairly with his case. Domitrovic doesn't know why counicil is concerned about setting a president, when a president has already been set in other cases. He presented council with a peti- tion bearing 2,000 names. Domnitrovic is not asking for a whole area to be rezoned, îjust his property. Counicil moved that this report be tabled tilt staff hias a chance to talk1 and updates th( . Linda MacGregor, Dr. John Campbell and Jack Eilbeck reiterated their con- cerns with couflcil allowing coastal deveiopmnents in the second phase of the Port of Newcastle. Brenton Richard was ist ed as a delegate but declined comment saying I will not be speaking at this time, we've given up.'" . Ron Webb, lawyer for Kaitlin Group told council that the credibility of a Mûnicipality and their people depends in large part in their ability to mnake decisions. "Do not open this issue". Webb warned. "A decision to rescind decisions previouisly made could jeopardize com- miitments made by the devel- oper," Webb *said. Further questioning by councillor . Mayor Il4mre, as proised, turntd her chair over to deputy mnayor Scott. The mnove was so couincil could reconsider a decision made last week that would allow coastal villas to be built south of the coastal road in phase two of the Kaitlin Development. Councillor Scott asked for a motion to suspend the rules which he got fromn Mayor Hamnre. Nonre of the remain- ing councillors would second that motion, so the matter wasn't even discussed.
