MIL J Orono driver reins in magical win by Roy Forrester Harness horse driver Paul MacDonell of Orono and a Canadian owned three year old colt, Village Jasper, are having a most successful year in theý stake-racing circuit. -Last Saturday nlght at Mohawk Raceway in, the eiglit-race Breeders Crown they set another upset victory i the three year old colt event. As well their race set a new track record for Mohawk Raceway with a Urne Of 1:514/5. MacDonell was on the inside in third place tuming. into the home-stretch. He jumped on the opportunity to turn out and Village Jasper catapulted to the lead which he extended to the finish lime. Village Jasper's time of 1:514/5 was a Mohawk Track Record. The heavy favourite in the event, Western Dreamer, was spent in the home stretch after fighting for the lead at the beg inning of the race. The victory for MacDonell and Village Jasper at Mohawk was the fifth such wln in the Breeder Crown series. The duo teamn early in the year were a long-shot in a Florida S takê Race. Again it was an upset Win for the duo registering a seven year record payëff- They also placed fourthl in the Little Browin Jug p1feliminaries this year.
