Physical Education Sara Hartmannm, Bob Witheridge, Aneisha Christmas Seals soiree raises money Over $11,000 was raised on November l3th, at The Lung Association Durham Region's Christmas Seals Soiree. Ail funds raised will help flght Lung disease throughout Durhamn Region. "We are delighted, and would like to thank the many individuals. sponsors, and guests who made this event such a wonderful success", said Linda Brankston, co- chair of the event, "The response from the communi- ty was tremnendous, and we slncerely appreciate every- one's generous support". The Christmas Seals Soiree featured private art showings with Glen Loates and local artist Bîl Saunders, and live and silent auctions at Trafalgar Castle School, which was transformed into a Christmas wonderland for the evening. The event was attended by over 120 people. Lung disease is serious, and on the rise. The Lung Association is among Canada s oldest charitable healith organizations and bas a strong record in terrns of bringing tuberculosis under control and helping prevent other lung disease. Funds raised from the Christmas Seals Soiree and through the Christmas Seal Camnpaign will help prevent lung disease through the Lungs Are For Life school program, and help those with lung disease through the Asthmia Out Reach and Breathe Easy pro- grams.
