In speaking with some of the students they spent the morning in the forest playing games and collecting natural materials for their crafts. "We had a lot of fun" was the general comment from the group. Aller lunch the students assembled in the Quonset H-ut for the craft portion of the outing. t was round and round the wax kettle to dip thecir candles to a size to fit their crafted candie holders made of material collected in the morning. The programi openled at the Centre on Novemnber 24th and continues tbrougb to December l9thi. The program- has been fully booked for this period and some five bundred students will be taking part in the outing. The programn was called a "Back To Nature Holiday Celebration" and judging from the acceptance by the Enniskîllen students it was aptly tagged. The craft options included Grapevine Wreaths, Ornaments, Canie Making, and Candie Holders. The students also set aside some time to create a Christmas wreatbi for their own school room. On December 17, Clarke's grade 12 general level Englisb class will be front row centre at The Buddy Holly Story, wblch is a spectacular perfor- mnance taklng place at the Princess of Wal.es Theatre in Toronto. The Buddy Holly Story is a fairly accurate portrayal of the 1950s legendary musician's life. t is a biography of Charles Harden Holly, a.k.a. Buddy Holly, who was bomn in Lubbock, Texas, Septemrber 7, 1936. He was a leader of the first generation of rock-and-roll artists until bis tragic death in a plane crash on Februalr 3, 1959.* This theatrical event bas been described as an excel- lent opportunlty for students to wltness a Broadway setting production, and to experience tbe performing arts environ- mient. We hope the class enjoys the experlence com- plete wvith sensatzional music and dance as well as tbe extraordlnary talents of lead- ing actors. Rosanna Yankanah SHOWBOAT VISIT Last week, many students were taken on a trip to see "Showboat", in Toronto. Tbe trip was supervîsed by Mrs. Ortback, Mr. Gale, and Mr. Sharpe. Approximnately 46 students went on tbe trip wbicb was educational as well as fun filled. Tbere was an educational bour before the show and this belped'stu- dents ask any questions they might have had. There were a few useful que,ýtions regard- lng costumes and setting and the characters tbemselves. t was an interesting bour. There was also a forty-five minute film on the making of the show, the bistory, and the people who helped make this show a good one. The show took place at around two o'clock in the aftemnoon and there wxas an intermission at tbree-thirty and then the show continued at a quarter to four and ended around five. We retumned to the scbool at about six o'clock. AI]lInu ah It was a fun day, enjoyed by all. It made me realize how racism existed in the soclety at the time that this show took place and bow much society bas changed bothi f or the good and the bad. 1 also realized bow much everyone should be equal in society and how everyonie is special in tLheir own way.
