The Bowmanville Drama Club's latest production direct- ed by Pat Marjerrison, called "Opening Night" is a comedy written by Canadian play-write Norm Foster. The play depicts the trials and travails of the opening night of a play called "Whisper on the Windv", The play opens in the VIP lounge of the theatre were a has-been actor Michael Craig played by Fred Archibald, meets the waiter and wanna-be actor Tom Delaney played by Troy Young. Also in the lounge are first time theatre patrons, the Tisdale's played by Margaret Williams and Ken Brignall. Mrs. Tisdale is eager to have her beer drinking, sports nut of a husband enjoy a night out at the theatre. He would rather be home watch- ing the seventh game of the World Series. Richard' Hyde-Finch the director of ?yWhisper on the Wind" played by Tim Luimes, is a selfish, pompous, arrogant mani who is unwilling to make an emotional commitment to girl friend Cilla Fraser, played by Nicola Lloyd. The young actress Libby Hasniak, played by Sharon Peleshok gets stuck in her role, and her fathers part, played by John Amesbury was high- jacked by Michael Craig. In the end the two couples rediscover their love for each other, the wanna-be actor gets an audition, and the has-been- actor is hauled off due to a breakdown. The play was packed with laughs, and a credit to aIl who helped in its production. The Bowmanville Drama Workshop's fali production will be a children's play titled "Which Witch is Which?
