Scott Wood Building Place bantams in 'B' Division fin als Last weekend the Orono 'Building Place' Bantam Leafs played Lange's Photo and defeated them 5-4. Although they won the game, it was not by enough goals and they were unable to advance to the 'A' division finals as was incorrect- ly printed a week ago. Many apologies. The bantams will resume 'B' division play this week. Determined to enter cham- pionship play, the Peewee house league took to the ice at 6:30 a.m. Saturday, March 28th. It's a tough call for a team to be on top that early in the morning, but these boys played an excellent game. Fabian Rozario scored the first goal, assisted by Will Lofgren in the first period. Lofgren scored once more in the first period, assisted by Jeff Dickinson and Fabian Rozario to make the score 2-2.. Kenneth Lake scored unassist- ed in the second period to keep the game tied at 3-3. J.P. Pisani and Kevin Martin com- bined with a goal to try for the tie but in the end Bowmanville went ahead 5-4. Exhibition play on March 30th in Newcastle was a bonus for Orono as goalie Darrell Kennedy took the shut-out with a 5-0 score. J.P. Pisani scored two goals with three assists, while Will Lofgren, Kenneth Lake and Kevin Pritchard scored the other three goals. Fabian Rozario scored one goal and assisted on one.. The boys were on a roll as they took to the ice on Thursday, April 2, against Bowmanville's MacGregor's IDA. The guys faced a tough goalie and after dozens of shots on net, they scored at 0:38 in the first period. Will Lofgren scored this goal assisted by Sean DeJong and Kenneth Lake. From this point on, it was a defensive game until the third period. Fine work by Keinan Williams, Knapp, Shephard and Dickinson allowed Kennedy the shut-out once again. Jordan Beacock and Andy Robinson played hard missing goals by mere seconds. Bowmanville's goalie held off the shots till the end of the third period when Pisani scored assisted by Kevin Martin. Championship play begins Tuesday night at 8:00 in Bowmanville, followed by a game on Thursday in Orono at 8:30. Good luck.
