They played great hockey and were rewarded with two BIG wins. Thursday night they took on the previously unbeaten Fenelon Falls club. Orono started off slow as Fenelon Falls found the net early in the first period. Orono's goalie Chris Burritt looked sharp after that making numerous key saves keeping his team within one to end the first period. The Falls seemed to have control of the game in the sec- ond as the puck was in Orono's end most the time. The host team made it 2-0 on a one- timer high in the slot. That goal seemed to spur the bantam boys on as they dug in and fought harder for control of the puck. The Falls took a few penalties which gave Orono a chance to get some on net. Lee Allin got the ball rolling so to speak as he roofed a wrist shot into the top corner. Assists went to Jeff Thompson and Chris Field and that's how the second period ended. Fenelon Falls seemed to sit back and let Orono put it to them in the third which result- ed in another Orono goal as Jeff Thompson fired it home after an end-to end rush by Aaron Robinson who passed the puck to Chris Field in the corner who in turn made a beautiful pass to Thompson out in front of the net who made no mistake to tie the game at 2. With six and a half minutes left in the game Orono rushed full steam ahead over their oppo- nent. Scott Wood chipped the puck past the Fenelon defense- man to Thompson who went all the way in and slipped one by the Falls' goalie into the corner of the net. From that point on the bantams stuck to a tight- checking game plan and killed off the time remaining in the game to hand Fenelon Falls their first loss of the season with a final 3-2 score. On Saturday the 21st, Orono was on the road again this time facing off against the second place Haliburton team in Minden. The game was fast starting as Haliburton cycled the puck well in Orono's zone. Chris Burritt was sharp once again as Jeff Slemon was bitten with the flu bug. Burritt was sharp making the big saves when called uponto keep the game scoreless. Orono took a few bad penalties in the first almost costing them a few goals but managed to retain the scoreless tie until the very end of the first.
