GARDENER'S CORNER We have two new Items to tell you about' this month.* Many of you may have already seen the new path- way extending to the Pottlng Shed. We look forward to establishing a sunny peren- niai garden in the Sprlng. A few bulbs have been planted for some colour, but stay, tuned for a flot of colours to be established next Summer. Our second project this Fali. Included the removal of overgrown shrubs and suck- er trees. along the Pottlng Shed. This overgrowth kept the shed very well shaded and added conslderably to the dampness both ln and on the, roof of the shed. Overgrown weeds and shrubs have also been removed along Wellington Street. Also, an unslghtly rusted fence was removed and grass seed planted. It Is our hope that with the backyard opened up to the street it will discour- age some of the vandallsm that has been occurring. Thanks to members who have supported our new spe- cial events thls year. Both the Strawberry Social and the Applefest were very well sup- ported. The revenues from these-two events have allowed us to establish arose garden along our new path. jAt thîs time I would also like to thank the many mer- chants in our town for their contlnued support in the development of the gardens at the Museum. Without this support many of ourprojects would flot have -been com- pleted. ,We are always Iooklng for new ideas and new memibers, if you would like to j oin us at any Urne just give us a cal and brlng your garden ideas along. This Is our last columu until the Spring. We wish you a very safe wlnter and a very Merry Christmas to you from your friends at the Bowmanville Museum.
