The new facilîty will consolidate sever- al smaller locations into one, and is scheduled to be com- plete by June 1, 1999. "With 60 years of Mackie opérations ti Oshawa, this Is a -logical next step for us to make at our home base, to continue growlng for the future. It will help us meet the needs of our single largest and most important customer - General Motors of Canada Limited," said Paul Mackie, Vice-Chairman of Mackie Automotive Holdings Inc., the parent company of Mackie Automotive Systems. "The Just-in--Time nature of our business demands a level of service perfection that wlll be enhance d by this pur- pose-built facillty. The close proxlmity to our customer location will most definitely allow us to minimize some of the time-sensitive delivery constraints that exist in the system today," added Nebe Tamburro, Mackie Automotive's President. The site is approximately 20 acres in slze, and allows for convenient truck and rail access. Approximately 550 employees will be housed at the new location.
