Mr. and Mrs. Kevin Fudgcf childien Andrew and twins Kaitlyni and Kirsten were welcomied as new memi- bers transferring from Kingsyiew United in Oshawa to our church. Susan French read the prayers very expressively as the congregation responded. Before the children proceeded out to Sunday School after Children's Moments the con- gyregation sang "Away ln A Manger." The choir then sang their anthemn for this Sunday, "He is Bomn" very beautifully. The sermon this morning was based on the message "The Di fferenic e Jesus Makes" ,and was based on two scripture readings. From the Old Testament Isaiahi 7: 14 - 15, was chosen and from the NeW Testament, Matthew 1:21. To many people it appears that Jesus lias flot mnade a difference in our world. Yet many people have experienced the power of prayer in the recovery of dear ones from accidents or surgery. There are many différent ways that Prayer cani be answered, and so many of us attribute the solution to coincidence or luck when in reality it is God at work. A Prayer of Affirmation of Faith followed. "Jesus proved that love is stronger than hate and that good will outlast evil" 15 one of the most important lines of this prayer. A Christmnas gift was then ~presented to Carole Gardner, our pianist, organist and choir director by Joan Anderson from the choir and on behaîf of the congregation. Carole lias been amazing in her dedication and bright spirits as she has battled illness and yet completed lier many business, personal and church duties. We al have been praying for Carole, and will continue to do so. We love you Carole, and wish nothing but the best for you. God is with you and will support you. "Hark the Herald Angels Sing" and "As With Gladness, Men of Old" were sung before and after the Offering. The ser- vice was closed with the t'_hrisjmas song, "Joy To The World", and this final state- ment,"This Cliristmas Jet us share withi our world, the hope, the liglit, the peace he brought us.", Twins Shawna anid Jeremny Peddar celebrated tlieir birth- days Saturday, and Hielen Couroux lhad lier birthday on Sunday.
