-ýýý~OroýnoWeeýky imes, Wednewsda1y, September 1, 1999 -5 by Roy Forrester At the Clarington General Purpose and Administra- tion Committee Meeting on Monday councillors went -tialf way on fulfilling a "-requ est by Mrs. Janlie Dodds, chairperson of the local LACAC organization. In her presentation Mrs. Dodds requested that LACAC benefit by five per- cent from the total sales of the yet to be printed book on the heritage buildings în Bowmanville. As well she suggested mention of the work of LACAC in the book. Under an agreement the Municipality is using funds from the Working Fund Reserve in publishing the book. Haif of the revenue k~rom the sale of the book is to be credited to the Mun- iclpality while the remain- der goes to printing costs. The 1000 books are to seli at a price of $33.00 and it was determlned that five percent of total sales for LACAC would amount to $1 ,650.00. Coundil bas approved that monies from the sale of the last 2414 books, profit, could be reserved for LACAC projects and grants as fuinds accumulate and requests are received. The amnount could reach,$8,000 rather than the $1,650-00 recognized through the five percent on total sales.
