In selecting which photographs to print for the show, I choose ones that although diverse, are all taken here, hence the title. The diversity of the photos only begins to reflect the area we live in: an evolving mix of urban and rural, wild and tame, a constant game of here and gone. While exploring and photographing our watershed I have seen moments of great beauty, but also those of destruction and decay. Of the three barns I saw torn down this past fall, I regret having only photographed one. I can always find a moment of beauty in decay, but once something disappears, it is even beyond the reach of my camera. By using the camera I can isolate and frame a moment. The printing process allows me to refine and share that vision. What component of my environment to capture next is a constant joy and challenge. The show runs until the end of January.
