She was 83. Wife (for 53 years) to Michael (d. 2003); mother to Philip Macdonnell, Pamela and Paul Love, and Hugh and Margot Macdonnell. "Soggy" to seven grandchildren, ranging in age from 22 years to 9 mos: Heather, Geordie, Sarah, Betsy, James, Charlie and Teddy. Daughter of the late George and Gladys Bull, predeceased by her brothers Wilf, Manny and John, and sister-in-law to Shelagh Rounthwaite and the late Betty Bull. Pat cared deeply for Newcastle, and was a summer resident of Bond Head for 83 years and a permanent resident since 1978. Pat's approach to life was unconventional and she surprised and amused the people around her all the time. She was blessed by a tremendously happy marriage; and loved, and was loved by, her children and a broad group of friends. Pat sought out people who were interesting and fun, and treated everyone she encountered with grace and charm. We will miss her irreverence, her wonderful sense of humour, her oft-given direction and advice and, of course, seeing her race around on the tractor. There will be a service at the cottage in Newcastle during the summer to celebrate her life. Please, no flowers; instead, a contribution to the Newcastle Historical Society or a charity of your choice would be welcomed. Arrangements entrusted to NEWCASTLE FUNERAL HOME (1-877-9873964). To my teaching colleagues and administrators, thank you for such a memorable assembly. The delicious, catered dinner in the transformed, "enchanted" staff room was everything and more, allowing me to savour one last time, staff life together. For the display case, the front foyer, stage and the many student- decorated flowers, the carefully created guest book and accent flowers, every nuance and detail so carefully placed, I was/am so moved and in awe. To Ed Taylor, Jan Skillen, Debbie Douglas, Cathy Abraham, Kim Banks and Jean-Ann Symak, your kind and gracious words made me so proud to have been part of Newcastle for thirty years. Gifts from students, staff, parent council, former colleagues and community, I am humbled by your kindness and generosity. June 4th will forever be a day where I felt/continue to feel so honoured, so valued, so loved and so richly blessed. You truly touched my heart and filled it with joy. Thank you everyone!
