Wednesday, Februar y 3, 2010 Orono Weekly Times - 11 Clarington Public Library - Bowmanville Branch Artspace on the Mezzanine The Book of Hours: Through the month of February, John Di Leonardo's "The Book of Hours" is featured at "Artspace on the Mezzanine" at the Bowmanville branch of the Clarington Public Library. John Di Leonardo of Brooklin studied Fine Arts through a scholarship at McMaster University in Hamilton, earning his BFA (Honours) in 1977. He earned a BEd at the University of Toronto. The following year, he began a thirty-one year career as a high school art teacher, twenty of those years as an Arts Department Head with various school boards. Di Leonardo has also taught summer art classes at York University, and life drawing and painting courses at night school and camps. Over the years, he has had many solo and group exhibitions throughout the G.T.A. In the 1980s, he was an executive member of the artist run Co-op Gallery 306, located at 80 Spadina Avenue, Toronto. Retired from teaching in June 2009, Di Leonardo now works as a full-time artist. Colour, the human figure and concept-driven imagery have been a constant in his expressive creative language. He continues to work on his "Book Of Hours" series begun some 10 years ago. When he is not in the studio, he is running marathons. The exhibition runs from February 1 to 28. Submissions from artists to exhibit at Artspace on the Mezzanine are always welcome. Contact Jean-Michel Komarnicki at 905-623-9060 or at: jmkimage@ican.net. ROOM OF THE MONTH n i g n i z i l a i c Spe y r e p a r D m o t s u C drapery · blinds · shutters "I was very happy with Wilma's services. I had several comments on how nice my new blinds and valance are and how much they suited my living room" Minnie Kaldeway, Orono Minnie's goal was to provide privacy, and warmth for her living room window which faced onto a busy road. The challenge was creating a window solution for a bow window with vertical shades and a finishing valance. Sensational Seam's solution was to create a panel valance, made from an ultra-suede, washable fabric that visually buttresses the shades when open. When the blinds are closed Minnie has superior window fashion that provides complete privacy and warmth! 4140 Concession Rd. 3, Newcastle Phone & Fax # 905-987-4272 wilma@sensationalseams.com www.sensationalseams.com Area's #1 Dealer of Canada's #1 Window Fashion Brand
