6 - Orono Weekly Times Wednesday, February 10, 2010 LOCAL SPORTS Orono Juveniles are 1-0-1 at midway point of play-offs by Doug Henderson The Orono Juveniles played their first two play-off games this weekend. The first game was played in Frankford on Saturday night. Orono managed a 5 -1 win over the Frankford team. Jim Kay, assisted by Brock McGill and Sam Jackson, started the scoring off within the first two minutes of the game. And just nine seconds later, McGill found the back of the Frankford net again, this time assisted by Kay and Aaron Baker. Frankford scored the next goal midway through the second period, but Orono matched that point when Brady Burns found the back of the Frankford net, assisted by Josh Rekker and Cody Graham. Orono dominated the third period with two more points, these going to Baker and Rekker, with the assists going to Jackson, Tyler Armstrong and Greg Konarowski. Troy Webster played a great game in net. Game Two of the weekend was played in Orono with a different outcome. The game ended in a 2 -2 tie. Josh Rekker put the first point on the board, assisted by Josh McGill. Orono came back with another point in the second period, this point going to Trevor Munce assisted by Dana Law. Frankford tied it up in the second, and neither team could find the back of the net in the third or in the 10-minute overtime period. Game Three and Four will be played next weekend: Saturday night at 8 p.m. in Frankford; and then Sunday afternoon at 3:30 p.m. in Orono.
