With fast-paced play and still adjusting to their changes, Orono fell behind to end the first. By the middle of the second, they were down by 4 but didn't give up. Evan Vey scored off his own rebound to make it 4-1, but Clarington retaliated with 2 more to make it 6-1 before Evan scored again with 2:30 left, to bring it to 6-2. With just over a minute left in the game, Cassy Dolley tapped in her first goal of the season for a final score of 7-3. Playing their last home game of the season, March 13 saw them up against the second-placed Clarington #5. This rough game saw penalties being meted out to both teams. On March 22, the Leafs played the Clarington team currently in fourth place. After dominating the play in their own end, Clarington broke free to go up 1-0 at 4:47 of the first and by 2 to end the first period. At 4:45 of the second, Tyler Vesna set up Cassy Dolley who scored her second of the year. Orono played well with Ethan Lock having one of his best games, and Brett McCormick breaking up several plays and all of the team members working well together to keep Clarington in check. With 1:55 left in the second, Lucas Iantomasi scored on the backhand when it looked like he barely had his stick on the puck. And then with two seconds left, John Sims lifted one over the sprawled goalie's pad. Despite their best efforts though, Clarington came back to score the go-ahead goal and then one into an empty net to win 5-3. An exciting game Leafs, keep up the hard work. With three play-off games under their belt, the Leafs will play two more games this weekend.
