Wednesday, May 12, 2010 Orono Weekly Times - 9 Debut CD, free concert from Kulyk Kasia Kulyk, a young Christian singer and songwriter, will be performing live on Friday, May 14 at the Rehoboth Christian Reformed Church in Bowmanville, at 7:30 p.m. Born and raised in Newcastle, Kasia, 17-years old, has played the piano for over 10 years, and has just released her debut CD of original piano compostions, All of Me, for You. "It is a gift of me and my music. All of Me, for You is more of a phrase of offering; I didn't want the focus to be on myself, but for God," she said. At the same time, the title also incorporates the fact that some of the songs on the album were created as gifts for others, as well as offerings to God. The young composer was particularly inspired by her Oma (grandmother), whose pleas for Kasia to make a recording of her music ultimately resulted in All of Me, for You. Recorded in the autumn of 2009, the album features eleven original compositions, with Kasia on the piano and also supplying the lyrics and vocals for a number of the songs. She has performed at her church, at nursing homes and health care centers, and she has participated in the annual Kiwanis Music Festival for the past seven years. Kasia will perform her award-winning song, "Symphony of Lightning" which she composed at the age of 14, as well as "A Sister's Lullaby," a special song composed for her sister.
