Wednesday, May 19, 2010 Orono Weekly Times - 9 Serious Collision in Oshawa A 23-year-old Oshawa male was airlifted to St. Michael's Hospital in Toronto on Sunday afternoon after a serious motor vehicle collision in Oshawa. On Sunday May 16, 2010 at approximately 2:14 a.m., officers from the Oshawa Division of Durham Regional Police were called to the area of Terrace Drive near Wilson Road for a single motor vehicle into a tree. The 22-year-old male driver of the blue Chevrolet Cavalier; Darryl Cormier of Doug Walton Lane in the Port of Newcastle was transported to Lake Ridge Health Oshawa, treated and released for minor injuries. The 23year-old male passenger who was taken to St. Michael's and remains there in serious condition with non-lifethreatening injuries. Two other people in the vehicle, a 20 year old Oshawa male and another 23year-old Oshawa male, were also treated at Lake Ridge Health Oshawa and released. Cormier, the driver of the vehicle, is charged with Impaired Driving Causing Bodily Harm, Driving While Under Suspension and Use Plates Not Authorized. Members of the Traffic Services Branch, Collision Investigation Unit attended the scene to conduct an Newcastle Public School Choir collected food for the Clarington East Food Bank at Choir Fest held on May 5th at the school. A section of the roadway was closed for several hours while evidence was collected. Police would like to speak to anyone who may have any information or may have witnessed this incident.
