14 - Orono Weekly Times Wednesday, June 2, 2010 Family trailer seriously injures child A three - year - old Newcastle boy is in stable condition at SickKids Hospital in Toronto after being involved in an incident with the family vehicle. At approximatley 8:30 p.m on Saturday, May 30th, officers from East Division - Clarington were called to a Newcastle residence regarding an accident involving a young boy run over by a trailer being towed by a family vehicle. The three-year-old boy was sitting in the rear of the family SUV with the rear door open while his mother was attempting to tow a tent trailer across the residential property. The young boy fell off the vehicle and was run over by a wheel of the trailer. The boy was air-lifted to SickKids Hospital in Toronto where he remains in stable condition. Members of the Traffic Services Branch, Collision Investigation Unit attended the scene to conduct an investigation.
