Politics at Clarke by Maggie Savage Co-op Student With the 2009/2010 school year at Clarke High School coming to an end, it's time for Clarke students to vote for a new Prime Minister for the 2010/2011 year. Clarke students are getting prepared as the elections for next year's Prime Minister/ Deputy Prime Minister will be held on Thursday, June 10th. There are two tickets for the positions for the second semester. The candidates are Mackenzie Gunn for Prime Minister and Sarah Osborne for Deputy Prime Minister vs. Zack Prescott for Prime Minister and Josh James for Deputy Prime Minister. For the first semester at Clarke, from September 2010 to February 2011, Rebecca Lang will be the acclaimed Prime Minister and her term will end when the second semester arrives. The Prime Minister for the second semester, from February 2011 to June 2011, will be decided after the speeches from the candidates are heard on Thursday, June 10th, 2010. The speeches will be held during the first half of third period. During the second half of the period, students will vote for Prime Minister/ Deputy Prime Minister. After the votes have been counted on June 10th, the results will be announced at the end of the school day during the announcements.
