Wednesday, July 14, 2010 Orono Weekly Times - 9 Jan Oegema's wood carving "A Tribute to Canada's Military Heroes," was unveiled at Newcastle's One of a Kind Artist & Artisans Show and Sale held at Bond Head Beach on Saturday morning. The carving depicts images of the First and Second World Wars, a motorcade carrying Canada's fallen soldiers on the Highway of Heroes from Trenton to Toronto, and wounded soldiers. It will be on display at The Gift of Art Studio on Robert Street in Newscastle for the month of July.
