With the first period underway, the boys were hoping for anything but a loss. With both teams skating hard and fighting for the puck, each team earned themselves a goal in the first. The tie didn't lass for long though, with Mariposa scoring 2 more goals before the period's end, making the score 3-1. As the second period started, the Orono boys got a second wind when the team scored 3 goals on Mariposa, making the score 4-3 for Orono. After a short break, Orono was ready for the third period. Although the boys worked well together and made strategic plays, Mariposa had the last say by scoring their fourth goal, making the final score 44. Orono's goals went to Fred Smith with a hat trick (3), and Mitch Canfield (1), with assists going to Chris Kuijpers, Jeremy Moore (2), Mitch Canfield, Tyler Mijer, Pierce Warwick, Ian Third, and Fred Smith. All the boys contributed to make the tie possible, with great goaltending by Evan Rosseau.
