The team started out slow by significantly losing the first three games. Then their for- tunes changed, as they won game 4 by a score of 2 to 0. Scoring for the Leafs were Caleb Herron and Nathan Hutchison. The semi final game was a great morale booster, with the Leafs winning 5 to 1 against Coldwater. Herron scored a hatrick and Hutchison scored twice. This put the Leafs in the `B' Finals against Manvers. In the first period, the Leafs had the lead with Evan Cummings scoring on a snapshot from the point and Devon Dennis scoring on a breakaway. Manvers owned the second period, scoring three times and eventually winning the game. Congratulations to the Leafs on making the `B' Finals. The competition was held at the Pickering Athletic Centre on December 3rd and 4th. Kailyn Wright of Newtonville won gold on bars and on vault, tied for 4th on floor, and earned 6th on beam, for a gold medal all around. Kaitlyn White of Newcastle won silver on the balance beam and on floor, for a 5th place all around. Gemini will be hosting the next provincial qualifier January 20th through 22nd.
