4 - Orono Weekly Times 1937 - 2012 · Celebrating 75 Years Wednesday, January 25, 2012 Clarington Concert Band brings a local note to music from `Around the world' BOWMANVILLE - As part of a performance being billed as bringing music from "here, there and everywhere," concert pianist Cheryl Duvall must be the "here." While she has played around the world, it is a homecoming of sorts for Cheryl, who is the granddaughter of local business owner Herb Duvall, of Orono Electric. The pianist will be featured, along with violinist Andrew Sords, in the Clarington Concert Band's presentation of "Around the world in 80 minutes: music from here, there and everywhere" at the Bowmanville High School Auditorium on Sunday, February 12th. The concert starts at 2:00 p.m. This concert is a special request by the Ona Miller Foundation which is a big supporter of the Clarington Concert Band. Cheryl Duvall is an active performer, chamber musician, accompanist, teacher and adjudicator. She completed an Honours Bachelor of Music, majoring in Piano Performance and Theory and a Diploma of Chamber Music from Wilfrid Laurier University, as well as a Master's of Piano Perforformer concertmaster, New mance and Pedagogy at the York Philharmonic; former University of Toronto. conductor, Los Angeles She has studied with Philharmonic.
