14 - Orono Weekly Times 1937 - 2012 · Celebrating 75 Years Wednesday, February 29, 2012 Ganaraska Conservation Authority Prowl the Ganaraska Forest for owls Friday March 2nd and Saturday March 3rd mark the dates for your opportunity to prowl for owls in the Ganaraska Forest, Southern Ontario's largest forest. Join staff and volunteers of the Ganaraska Region Conservation Authority (GRCA) for an exciting night of everything to do with owls. Beginning at 7:00 pm at the Ganaraska Forest Centre, enjoy an engaging slide show and displays before venturing out on a guided walk in search of an owl or two. Registrants will follow the leader's acoustic trail of hoots to seek out the popular Snowy Owl, the Great Horned Owl, and many more. This evening event ends back at the Centre at 9:00 pm where the group will sip hot chocolate and reminisce over the sightings. Pre-registration and payment are required for this popular annual event by calling the GRCA administrative offices at 905.885.8173. Fees for this fun-filled evening are $12/adult and $6/child; please note that all children must be 8 years of age or older to participate.
