Jimmy Alldread of Newtonville broke his neck when he fell out of a tree on May 4th and has been in the hospital and rehab ever since. According to Lynn Alldread, he is supposed to come home on November 15th. The Kendal Lions Club are holding a pancake breakfast on Sunday November 4 to help raise funds for Jimmy's medical assistance. The breakfast will be held at the Kendal Community Centre from 9 a.m. to noon. The price of $7 per adult and $3 for children ages six to 12 years can be paid at the door. By-election called Durham voters will be heading to the polls on November 26 to elect a member of parliament to replace Bev Oda. Prime Minister Stephen Harper made the much anticipated announcement of the byelection date on Sunday. Byelections will be held in three ridings across the country ­ Victoria, Calgary Centre and Durham where members stepped down during the summer. Three parties have declared candidates in the riding thus far. Erin O'Toole for the Conservative, Grant Humes for the Liberals and Andrew Moriarity for the Christian Heritage Party. The NDP party held their nomination meeting on Tuesday night where Larry O'Connor, Kim King and Adian Tooms vied for the opportunity to represent their party in the by-election.
