Orono artist David Trotter's Acrylic on leather sculpture called "Stars Stall" was selected for the Mayor's award at the VisualArts Centre, Juried Arts Show onOctober 28th. The show runs until Sunday, November 18th. The Orono Park Board held their final meeting of the year on Tuesday evening with five members of the Board in attendance, A.E. West, J. Stone, S.B. Rutherford, H.M. Mercer and Miss A. Cuttell Mr. Stone reported that a plastic covering had been purchased to cover the filtration plant. He also reported that winterizing the pool has also been completed. A committee of Miss Alma Cuttell and Mr. S.B. Rutherford was appointed to investigate the possibility of obtaining more property for the park. It was pointed out that cleaning up of new property could be done under the winter work incentive plan. A delegation of Messrs. Roy Forrester and Wm. Turansky of Kendal met with the Orono Park Board seeking information on the operation of the Orono Park under the Community Centres Act. It was stated that the deed for the Jackson Park in Kendal was held by the Township of Clarke and consideration is being given to bring it under the Community Centres Act. LOOKING BACK see page 6
