Remembrance Day was observed in Orono on Thursday morning when all the places of business were closed from 10:30 12:00 to allow all to attend the services in the town hall, which was sponsored by the Orono Chamber of Commerce, the committee being Messrs. Neil Porter and W.E. Riddell. The service was in charge of Rev. J.H. Osterhout, assisted by Rev. E. Beech, of Newtonville, who gave the address. The service opened with the singing of "The Maple Leaf", followed by the invocation 10:30, followed by the hymn "O God our help in ages past, Prayer. At 11:00 the two minutes silence was observed and at 11:02 Bugler Tamblyn sounded the Last Post and Reveille. Hymn, "Blest be the tie that binds", was sung, after which Rev. Beech gave his address. Hymn "Land of our Birth" followed by the singing of the National Anthem and the Benediction.
