Members of the Kinsmen Club were selling tags at the Bowmanville Mall and at various downtown locations during the fund-raising project. HAYDON NEWS Bowmanville High School students made a clean sweep win last week with their participation in the Northumberland and Newcastle School Board annual Canada Quiz. They won both the junior and senior competitions over the eight secondary schools entering the contest. Mrs. Jean Garrard, Mrs. Jean Slemon, Mrs. Blanche Jones and Mrs. Lorna Graham attended Open House at Mrs. Gail Cameron's at Pontypool Wednesday evening where she had her wicker and silk flower arrangements on display and complemented the evening with a wine and cheese party. Several parents from the Village went to Open House at Enniskillen School Wednesday evening where the Enniskillen school choir entertained, - Grades 5 and 6 put on a French play. The three top public speakers gave their speeches and there v/as a Science Fair on view. 11 Mr. Sandy Jones .and Miss Julie Rusaw-ofrdslÉwa were 1 Saturday callers at his parent's home after a vain attempt at fishing. All they got was wet. Mr. and Mrs. Doug Black burn attended the Ontario Minister of Health of O.P.S.E.U. convention as a delegate in Toronto at the Sky Line Hotel Friday through Sunday. Mr. and Mrs. John Adams had their annual dance at the Acres Saturday night after spending the day in Stouff- ville. They called on Mr. and Mrs. Ernie Adams and family at Blackstock. Miss Carol Lott, Toronto was a weekend visitor of her sister and family, Mr. and Mrs. J. Adams. Mrs. Norma Kennedy has returned home after visiting her mother in New Brunswick who has had a heart attack. For those interested in Bowling from Hay don, Club 21 is sponsoring an evening on May 7th, at Liberty Bowl in Bowmanville, starting at 8 p.m. Hope to see a good attendance.
