Janet is fiancee of Ross Leadbeater and this couple will be exchanging exchanging wedding vows in September. Co-hostesses were Annie Wright, June Wright, Betty Wright, Carrol Clemens and Doris Axford. Mrs. Muriel Weaving, Ancaster spent the weekend with Floyd and Elsie Beckett and accompanied them to the Sharp - Sperry wedding on Saturday. Mr. and Mrs. Edgar Wright and Betty visited Mr. and Mrs. Vernon Ratz and Ray, Mr. and Mrs. Jim Petty and Tonya, Moncton, New Brunswick, Mrs. Gil Bodley and family, Hamilton in Huntsville on Wednesday. Congratulations go to Mr. and Mrs. Gordon Sharp nee Katie Sperry who were married married on Saturday. Mrs. David Cecchetto and boys are visiting for a week with Mr. and Mrs. Ted Werry and family. Mr. Jim Muller and Mr. Darryl Muller have returned from Danville, Virginia after participating in the four-cycle Grandnational Go Kart Races. Darryl placed 2nd in the Dual Import Class and 8th in Senior Stock Light Class. A tour was arranged for the Karters to visit the Goodyear Plant and it was enjoyed by all. Weather averaged 100 degrees. Miss Betty Wright visited with Mrs. W. E. Sanderson, R. R. No. 1, Oshawa for a few days. Mrs. Bernice Bothwell, Oshawa spent a week with Mr. and Mrs. Clarence Stainton and family. Dr. Bruce Bowman and ..Shelley, London visited with the Bowmans and attended the Holstein Twilight Meeting at Eric Bowman's on Wednesday. Wednesday. Weekend callers of Mr. and Mrs. Len Stainton were Mrs. David Stainton and Deanna, Cobourg, Mr. and Mrs. Henry Stainton, Caesarea and Mr. C. Mills, Bowmanville. Mrs. Olive Henderson, Beaverton spent the weekend with Mr. and Mrs. Tim Howe. Mrs. Milton Sanderson, Toronto and Harry Sanderson, Oshawa were Sunday visitors of Mr. Adam Sharp. Mrs. Ernest Walker, Till- sonburg spent a couple of days with Mrs. Lou Griffin. The Gregg families visited the Sharp families and attended attended the Sharp - Sperry wedding on Sat. Mr. and Mrs. Earl Trewin were recent visitors of Mr. and Mrs. Sandy Moore, Prince Albert. Mr. and Mrs. Wilfred Bowman attended the Bowman Picnic at Mr. and Mrs. Murray Mountjoy's, Kedron on Sunday. Mr. and Mrs. Dick Howe had a birthday supper on Sunday for Tracey Howe with the following guests: Mrs. Olive Henderson, Beaverton, Brad Huggins, Rick and Sherry, Oshawa. Many happy returns of the day, Tracey. Miss Michelle Leadbeater, Oshawa is holidaying with her grandparents Mr. and Mrs. Art Leadbeater. A good turn out brought forth our worshippers on Sunday at Enniskillen United Church with Mr. Ray Ashton at the organ. Pastor Joe chose as his Scripture Lessons - Acts 15: 1-12 and 22-29. Mr. Lafave's Message was based on "A Controversy Settled." Next Sunday, July 31st the joint service will again be at Enniskillen at 10:00 a.m. Lunch will follow. Obituary Bessie Nichol Dean ; In failing health for the past few years, Bessie Nichol Dean, aged 85, passed away in Bobcaygeon on Sunday, July 3rd, 1983. Born at London, Ontario and educated at Pond Mills and London, she was the daughter of Andrew and Agnes Elliott. In 1920 she married the late Thomas Wilson Dean. A resident of Bowmanville for one and a half years, she was a member of Trinity United Church, the United Church women, and the Senior Citizen's. Surviving arc her daughters Tish (Mrs. Boh Milne), lictlc (Mrs. Ralph Dewey) and Peggy (Mrs. Harold Rowe), The Reverend Arthur Amodier officiated at the funeral services held on Tuesday Tuesday in Bowmanville.
