Jim Kirkconnell, Community Relations, Durham Durham College, The Ebenezer U.C.W. ladies opened their fall session with a delicious outdoor picnic lunch at 12:30 p.m. on Tuesday, Sept. 13th at the home of Mrs. Joan Coverly. There were 22 ladies and two children present. present. The weather was a little cooler, making us feel like fall was really here and time to get back into the swing of things. Our president, Mrs. Eileen Down, opened the meeting with a very fitting poem "Goa Of The Seasons." Joan Coverly's devotional theme was Now Is The Time. She read a poem: The clock of life is wound but once And no Man has the power, To tell just when the hands will stop; At late or early hour. Now, is the only time you own; Live, love, toil with a will, Place no faith in tomorrow, for The hands may then be still. Scripture reading was taken from Ecclesiastics 3: 1 - 11. Joan then led in prayer followed followed by a thought provoking reading about "Let us take time for all things." Time is a trust from God and how we use time helps determine our destiny. God takes time for us, and we must take time for Him. Our time here on earth is but a hyphen between two eternities. God is at each end of our lives. We must learn to use wisely the time allotted to us so that when we see God, we shall hear him say, "Well done thou good and faithful servant." 1 Offering was taken and dedicated. She closed the worship worship with the poem "Lord, I Have Time" followed by prayer. Our secretary, Mrs. Kay Mackie read the minutes followed followed by Mrs. Joan Down giving the treasurer's report.
