By Norman Smith Lawn Bowling got off to a good start on Sunday afternoon, afternoon, May 27, when 24 players enjoyed the first event of the season-two jitneys of six ends each - at The Greens, corner of Queen and Temperance Streets, Bowmanville. The game was preceded by a business meeting at which the President, Peter Bathgate, presided. The financial position position was reviewed by the Treasurer, Bryan Hughes, and plans for the coming season made known to the members. Following the games, more than 35 members enjoyed a sumptuous pot-luck supper at which the culinary skills of our female members were again in evidence - the food was much too tempting for those of us who are, or should be, on diets!
