Obituaries ROBERT WILLEY STOCKER Following a lengthy illness, Robert Willey (Bob) Stocker, aged 73, passed away in Memorial Hospital, Bowmanville on Sunday, May 13th,1984. Son of Mr. and Mrs. Robert Stocker (nee Ida Coukell) he was born at Glenora. On October 1st, 1932, he married Eliza Kirkton who predeceased him six weeks ago. A mechanic and business man of the town, he was the owner of Stocker's Texaco Garage for 25 years and had resided at 12 Second Street, Bowmanville for 51 years. He was a member of the United Church, and of the Bowmanville Branch 178 of the Royal Canadian Legion. During the Second World War, he served with the RCAF for six years, obtaining the rank of an officer. He was also an avid fisherman. Surviving are his son Robert, a daughter Berniece (Mrs. John Beauprie), nine grandchildren and three great grandchildren. He was predeceased by a daughter Ruth (Reeve). The Reverend John Peters officiated at the funeral services held on Wednesday at the Morris Funeral Chapel. Mrs. J. Albert Cole presided at the chapel organ. Pallbearers were Messrs. Phillip Beauprie, Dan Turiski, Sandy Kemp, Jim Dilling, Jim Byers and David Allin. Interment Bowmanville Cemetery. LOUISE TEMESNA PURDY Louise Temesna Purdy died suddenly as a result of an automobile accident near Cambridge, Ontario, Thursday, Thursday, April 5, 1984. She was 20 years old. She was the beloved daughter daughter of Wayne and Evelyn Purdy, dear sister of Daryl, and much loved granddaughter granddaughter of Mr. and Mrs. C. C. Purdy, Peterborough, and the late Glen and Beryl Hughes. Louise was studying to become a supervisor with mentally handicapped adults. She had volunteered extensively extensively in this area. Her Funeral Mass was held at St. Joseph's Church Saturday, April 7, with Father Frank Mihelic officiating. Her cousin Peter Daly! organist for St. Michael's Cathedral, provided the music. Pallbearers were Messrs. Gary Wind, Andrew Crowne, Jim Conway and her uncles Harry Baker, Larry Walsh and Dan Hughes. 0 Divine Master, grant that 1 may seek not so much to be consoled as to console; to be understood understood as to understand, to be loved as to love, for it is in giving that we receive, it is in pardoning that we are pardoned, and it is in dying that we are born to Eternal Life. MARY ADELINE MILLSON On Sunday, April 8th, 1984, Mary Adeline Millson, a lifelong lifelong resident of Clarke Township, Township, passed away at South' Haven Nursing Home, Newcastle. Newcastle. Born on June 18th, 1897, on the home farm Lot 12, Concession Concession 4, Township of Clarke, she was the eldest daughter of the late Beecher and Elizabeth Millson family. Until her admittance to the nursing home, her entire life was spent on the Homestead farm in Clarke Township with her family. Predeceasing her were her father in 1909, her mother in 1947, her brother Beverley 1926, her sister Edna in 1952 (Mrs. Andrew Bandy) and her brother Hector in 1973. Surviving her is a nephew, Harry Bandy. Addie, as she was commonly commonly called, was a tremendous worker and managed the home farm for many years. She was devoted to everyone who knew her and would not pass anyone by without some kindness. She spent her life in caring for others to which many can attest. Her final years on the farm were perhaps some of the happiest when her . cousin Thomas Millson with his wife Gail and their children lived with her and operated the farm for her, The funeral service was held at the Morris Funeral Chapel on Tuesday, April 10, 1984, and was conducted by Linda King of Newtonville United Church. Temporary interment was in the Lang Memorial Chapel, Orono Cemetery. Pallbearers were Messrs, Brian Millson, Orono, Edgar Millson, Newcastle, Eric Thompson, Welcome, Bill Hale, Newtonville, Donald Millson, Oshawa, Lyle Mill- son, Blackstock. Many beautiful floral tributes tributes attested to the esteem in which Adeline was held as did the contributions to various charitable organizations.
