The Individualized Residential Residential Care Program has made it possible for another seventeen developmentally handicapped children to live with families in the community. The Individualized Residential Residential Care program began four years ago. Since starting out with only one family the program program has been so successful that it has expanded to include many more families and it is still growing. "We have hosted many groups and individuals from various parts of the continent continent and abroad who have inquired about this support option for developmentally handicapped children and who are now developing similar programs," said John Klas- sen, Director, Children's Residential Services. The families that provide residential residential services for developmentally developmentally handicapped children are known as Associate Families. Natural parents of developmentally handicapped children now have a positive individualized alternative to institutional placement for their children in this Region. ■ Associate families have been chosen and professionally professionally trained to provide homes and all necessary support to developmentally handicapped children. The families are provided provided with all of the emotional, emotional, professional and financial supports that they need. Associate families are also considered as employees of ADHOD Services. They receive receive regular salaries and a complete benefit package in addition to monthly expense cheques for the use of the house, for food, recreation and special needs costs. The Individualized Residential Residential Care program has given some women the opportunity to stay home with their children children while working as professional professional parents in supporting a developmentally handicapped child. OBITUARY TRYNTJE WOUDSTRA Born at Hoogkerk, the Netherlands, and educated in the Netherlands, Tryntje Woudstra, aged 90, passed away in Bowmanville on Friday, August 10th, 1984, following following a two week illness. Daughter of Ake Zorge and Harmina Staal, she was married to Dirk Woudstra on July 18,1918. Immigrating to Canada in 1954 with one daughter, she had resided at 69 Scugog Road until 1976, previously residing at 40 Concession Street West. Three sons immigrated to Canada before she did, one son is still residing in the Netherlands. Netherlands. Surviving are Dirk, Ake (Netherlands), Herman and Minnie. Funeral services were held on Monday, with the Reverend A. DeJager officiating. The organist was Mr. T. Strik- werda. Pallbearers were Dirk, Dick, Ralph and Jacob Woudstra, Woudstra, Bill and Richard Evers. Interment Bowmanville Cemetery.
